Role Summary

The primary purpose of this role is to support the sales efforts across the EMEA Institutional business (UK, Middle East and Northern Europe), with primary focus on the Northern Europe Sales team. The institutional business works primarily with defined benefit pension funds across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. This role requires strong analytical, research and from time to time administrative capabilities and supports every stage of the sales process, working directly with the Sales associates.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Displaying exemplary conduct and living by our organizations Code of Conduct.
  • Taking personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across the business
  • Effectively and collaboratively identifying, escalating, mitigating and resolving risk, conduct and compliance issues

Support sales & business growth

  • Working with sales teams to develop pitch material and collateral to help drive new business activity.
  • Providing analysis that demonstrates the value add of the proposed Russell Investments solution and highlights the competitive advantage.
  • Producing high quality analysis, working with Client Strategy & Research, Investment Division, Marketing, and other departments.
  • Managing and reviewing process and necessary compliance sign-off’s.
  • Raising profile with contacts and organisations with whom we have not had previous contact

Market research

  • Collating and updating data around key individuals and organisations for our target companies including contact details and useful networks (for example using various sources of data to establish board representations and connectivity of board members with other organisations)
  • Understanding market trends and themes impacting institutional investors across the region.
  • Proactively producing analysis or sharing findings that help shape the nature of developed solutions.

Manage sales campaigns/events and CRM

  • Managing and maintaining the CRM records for organisations and contacts (this has to be done with close collaboration with Sales associates)
  • Working with Marketing to prioritise leads derived from campaigns, events etc and mapping into sales team account prioritization

RFP production

  • Project managing RFP process from sales side (whilst getting as much support as possible from RFP team)
  • Assisting in completing RFP responses in tailoring to client specific circumstances, and ensuring all key sales messages are included.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Candidates who are studying or intending to study for IMC or CFA (or other finance related professional qualifications) will be preferred
  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent required
  • Previous relevant experience, likely in a similar or analytical role (exceptional graduates will be considered)
  • Some previous experience in Financial Services industry preferred
  • An understanding of asset management, financial markets, investment concepts, competitors and industry trends
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and numerical skills
  • Ability to undertake research
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite – intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting etc are essential. VBA is a plus)
  • Fluent written and spoken Dutch & English
  • Business Dutch & English is required, preferably obtained directly within a financial institution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to transfer thoughts and express ideas or concepts clearly and accurately in either one-to-one or group situations
  • Able to share information appropriately and in a timely manner across the team and organization
  • Translates and effectively discusses technical and/ or analytical information effectively
  • Ability to contribute and edit content for investment writings
