Within the Healthcare industry there is an increasing trend towards “one stop shop”: customers want one reliable and accountable partner for longer term contracts, the partner needs to be able to take care of the integral project realization and execution.

The Harmonized Business Case (HBC) Team operates with the above trend in mind, acting as a center of excellence in supporting modelling for long strategic partnerships, capability building and knowledge sharing. The intern will be integral part of the HBC Team and will participate hands on in the team mission realization.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

  • Implement new objects into our database
  • Improve the processes around Azure SQL Database
  • Define and Use Azure Pipelines
  • Analysis and test on complex queries before being delivered to the customers
  • Get a (pragmatical/real life ) understanding of CI/CD and Git
  • Experience Agile project development

Your responsibility is towards the sustainable use of the models. The responsibilities include:

  • Implement and Test new functionalities on database, updating the test scripts and supporting Database objects consumed by reports
  • Supporting the documentation of our processes: Create/maintain new/existing technical documents/work instructions (for developers and technical team)
  • Supporting training and presentations of new/existing functionalities for technical team
  • Supporting the development of calculations in our database

You are a part of the Harmonized Business Case Team of Philips, which is embedded in the Finance organization

This team is responsible for building and developing the database that supports financial models for the quotation and delivery of long-term strategic partnerships. Besides capturing the data the team is responsible for properly storing and dashboarding the data/information to several Stakeholders in many different roles Globally. And enabling the re-use of this data automatically in as many as possible places.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills

  • Studying for a degree in one of the following: Computer Science/ Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Information Technology
  • Proper understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Good knowledge of programming, in VBA, T-SQL is a pre-requisite
  • Good knowledge of Relational Database is a pre-requisite
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure Pipelines (preferred)
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving execution skills
  • You have organizational skills to work in a structured way and maintain a holistic focus
  • You are proactive and keen to learn
  • You are a good communicator and  fluent in English

Next to that, we are offering a decent internship package:

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 – €700 gross, depending on educational level. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.
  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.
  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €145,- net
  • Paid holidays per internship term.
  • The opportunity to buy Philips equipment at our Philips shop

IMPORTANT:

Part of our selection procedure is a HireVue online interview recording. We are not able to share the outcome of this HireVue interview but will use this as extra selection criteria.

In order to be considered, you have to be registered as a student during the entire internship period. Formal documentation will be requested. Students from outside the EU enrolled at a Dutch university need to fill in a NUFFIC agreement – which needs to be signed by the student and the university.
