Function description
As Treasurer, you are responsible for Sefa’s financial position. This means monitoring every euro the association spends, and you are responsible for all incoming and outgoing cash flows. You prepare Sefa’s budget for the upcoming 12 months and make a financial statement once your term is over. Throughout the year, you make a revised budget based on quarterly and half-yearly realizations. The Treasurer is also responsible for helping the board and all committees set out a financial strategy. You will ensure that your fellow board members and all the committees spend money most efficiently and in accordance with Sefa’s statutes. Furthermore, the Treasurer plays a vital role during General Meetings by justifying the board’s financial decisions. This includes presenting Sefa’s budget and financial statement and giving an adequate explanation.
Tasks
- Creating Sefa’s financial policy, budget, and financial statements
- Have a complete overview of the financial position of the association
- Manage and authorize all incoming and outgoing cash flows
- Guiding the committee treasurers and having good insight into the committee budgets
- Manage Sefa’s insurance and tax matters

About me
Hi everyone,
My name is Thierry De’eb, and I will be the treasurer of the 104th Executive Board. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, moving to Amsterdam 3 years ago to begin my university journey. Having just finished my studies in PPLE, specialising in economics, I am ready to start this board year!
As a PPLE student, I have always been a bit of an outsider looking in. However, through some of my friends joining Sefa committees and attending the occasional Sefa event myself, I got the chance to see how fun and welcoming Sefa is. And how Sefa uniquely delivers on both the career and the social events. When I got the opportunity to become a part of the community, I jumped at the chance. And now I hope to be in a position where I can help create similar experiences for others!!
When I’m not in the office, you’ll likely find me in a boxing class or doing whatever sport I’m into that week, contributing to my growing vinyl collection, or enjoying some time cooking at home. I’m excited to meet all of you this year and work together on all the exciting things Sefa has planned!
