Covid-19 Information

Following the latest Dutch governmental guidelines on the coronavirus, we have updated our guidelines accordingly to ensure the safety of our members. These developments have also forced us to reevaluate the events that are planned in the near future and the way we work together as a team when organizing them.

Upcoming months

With the latest regulations announced in the press conference, Sefa is limited in organizing offline events in the upcoming months. We are closely monitoring the situation and are in close contact with the UvA to look at the opportunities for events, whether this might be online or offline. For this reason, some events will be different than in past years. However, this enables Sefa to keep organizing events during these challenging times. All career events will continue, if offline isn’t possible we will think of an online alternative. In this way, we are still able to help students to get in contact with companies and acquire new skills.
At the moment we are not allowed to travel, this brings a lot of uncertainty for our upcoming trips. We follow the Dutch governmental guidelines regarding the travel policy. If you have any questions regarding a trip, don’t hesitate to contact us.

In case there are changes in our guidelines and policy, we will inform you as soon as possible. We would like to stress that your health is our highest priority when we decide to host or cancel an event.

Sefa Store
Until further notice, the Sefa store will be closed. We direct you to our online Study store for any study material that you might be in need of. Sefa is working together with their store partners to make sure every student is able to buy and receive their study materials!

Committee meetings
To contain the spread of the virus, working from home is the norm for all UvA staff members, including study associations. This means that committee meetings are canceled on campus. Any work that you might still need to do for your committee needs to be done from home. Committee meetings should be done digitally by conference software. We provide the option to use Google Hangouts Meet. A manual to set up such a meeting can be found here:

Study Buddies
The quarantine can be lonely sometimes, especially if you are far away from home. During normal times you encounter lots of new people every day, but the current restrictions make this hard. Therefore, we have come up with a way to meet your fellow students and possibly make new friends! Want to participate?

General information
Temporary rental contracts
An emergency law made it possible to extend temporary lease contracts for one time only by three months. Contact your landlord for more information. For those who want to cancel their temporary lease contracts. Be informed, that this is almost always possible with a notice period equal to the payment term.

As a reminder:
Please stay home in case of:

  • Coughing or sneezing
  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath
  • If you feel you have been exposed to the virus

And keep in mind to:

  • Maintain at least 1,5 meter (5 feet) distance between each other
  • Follow the advice of the World Health Organization and the RIVM regarding personal hygiene
