Blog post #16: ACD: From Cases to Career Success

Only quality events.

Dear Sefasts

It’s been an unforgettable month!! We’ve had the pleasure of organising and hosting a wide range of events that brought students together in professional and social settings.

The Amsterdam Career Days were a true highlight, connecting students with leading companies and offering valuable career insights. Students spoke directly with recruiters, attended inspiring presentations, and explored opportunities engagingly. With the support of our main partners, OLYX, BDO, ABN AMRO, and KPMG, and the participation of over 2,000 students, 70+ companies, and 110+ activities, ACD once again established itself as the largest career event in the Netherlands, providing an exceptional platform for students to connect, learn, and explore professional opportunities.

The Amsterdam Case Competition challenged participants to think critically and creatively about real-life business cases. With 48 solvers from 12 universities worldwide, the stage was set, and the tension was palpable. Congratulations to our UvA team for finishing 2nd! For the first time, ACC featured a pop-up at our Sefa location, with Dunkin’ Donuts treating participants throughout the event. A big thank you to Dunkin’ Donuts and Jack Link’s for the delicious food and valuable feedback, which made the competition both fun and memorable.

Our committees stayed busy with a variety of events. The Investment Club hosted “The Bank’s Engine” for a deep dive into finance, along with a separate panel discussion. Creativity glowed at the International Development Project’s Coffee, Sip & Paint, where students relaxed, painted, and connected. On the social side, Living Dutch’s Blowout Party brought great music, a lively atmosphere, and familiar faces, making it a night to remember.

Continuing on the social side, that same lively energy carried through our Saint Patrick’s Monthly Drink, the Master March Drink, and the Alumni Drink, where students, alumni, and friends of the association came together to relax, catch up, and enjoy a fun evening.

We also onboarded all new committee members recruited at the end of February and wish them the best of luck! With the 105th board applications opening, we held the last Board Info Drink, providing a moment to reflect on the year, share experiences, and look ahead to what’s next.

After such an action-packed month, the excitement continues in April with our MCC study trip to London and many more unforgettable moments to come!
