MCC BA Studytrip
Spring is coming, which means most of us will be super busy writing our theses. However, we must not forget to get out there and have some fun together before our academic year comes to an end. This April, the Master Career Club BA will, therefore, take you to Düsseldorf for a weekend full of cool company visits and socializing with fellow students by having some German beers!
Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf is one of Germany’s most important cities. It lies in the heart of Germany’s busy Ruhr-area, which is one of Europe’s industrial centers. Besides industry, Düsseldorf is known for its beautiful ‘Altstadt’ (old town), its renovated Medienhafen and the palace and park Benrath. The combination of industry and culture makes it the perfect place for a weekend getaway.
The trip will take place from the 4th of April to the 6th of April. We will leave in the late afternoon of Thursday (18.00) and arrive in Düsseldorf at night. The next day we will have two company visits (companies will be announced soon) and at night we will have time to enjoy the German nightlife. On Saturday there’s free time for some sightseeing or shopping and in the late afternoon (16.00), we will return to Amsterdam.
Companies:
- Ford: On Friday morning we will visit one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world, founded in 1903 by Henry Ford. We will be taken on a factory tour in which we will have the chance to experience the real production process of Ford cars and learn about everything that happens at the assembly chain.
- Trivago: Trivago enables us to compare over 1.8 million hotels worldwide. For perspective, there are 3500 hotels in Amsterdam! We’ll learn how they implemented AI, machine learning and built their competitive advantage at their office in Düsseldorf.
The participation fee is €40 and it covers:
- Pre-departure drink
- Transport (Amsterdam, Nieuwe Uilenburgerstraat 173 – Düsseldorf and Düsseldorf – Amsterdam, Nieuwe Uilenburgerstraat 173 and transport to the company visits)
