Dear Sefasts,
The first month of the academic year is already behind us. Midterms are either done or still haunting you, but either way, we’ve started strong. The new Sefa Board has now been operating for three months, and we haven’t wasted any time. We kicked things off in Vondelpark with the Beer Olympics, where our members took the unlimited beer as a challenge and made us proud. This was followed by a wonderful Introcamp and the AGAN Boat Tour, where we met many of our current AGANers. After a record-breaking number of applicants, we’re excited for what promises to be a great AGAN year.
Overall, September Recruitment was a huge success. Interviews for more than 14 committees are still ongoing, and it’s inspiring to see so much new energy flowing into our association. Beyond recruitment, we are proud to host one of the most prestigious events in accounting, Amsterdam Accountancy Days 2025. Meanwhile, our Skillsweek Committee has been doing an amazing job organising their events, and we are set to host the biggest Skillsweek edition yet.
October won’t be slowing down either. We’ll begin with our first General Meeting, where we’ll officially say goodbye to the 103rd Board. Later this month, we’ll have our first Monthly Borrel, this time in white. My personal favourite event of the year, the Ladies’ and Men’s Night, is also just around the corner! And to top it all off, we’ll head out of town for Active Members Weekend: a special Halloween edition. It’s the Halloween House Party you’ve been waiting for, and the best part is, you don’t have to Uber home in a bunny outfit. Save the date: October 31st to November 2nd!
September has been a month to remember, and none of this would be possible without all of you. From the Sefa office, here’s to 104 years of reaching new heights.
All the best,
Asya Toprak Bozkurt
