Biography
Dr. A.H.E.M. (Nout) Wellink is currently board member at the Bank of China.
In 2010, Wellink was determined as being the one man who is believed to have wielded the greatest influence on worldwide financial oversight including “game-changing proposals on capital requirements and liquidity” for the world’s banks. He was president of the De Nederlandse Bank (DNB), a director of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) from 1997 until 2012 and chairman of the board from 2002 until 2006. Also, Wellink was a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank from 1999 until 2012, a governer of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and a member of the Financial Stability Board (FSB).
