Function description
As Chairman, you have a central position on the board and focus on the overall cooperation between all board members. You oversee the long-term goals and the strategy of the association in its entirety. To maintain oversight and keep the whole board informed, you organize and chair biweekly board meetings. This also holds for four-monthly general meetings, where members hold you accountable for the achievement of policy goals. Furthermore, you are Sefa’s final representative to the outside world and maintain external relationships.
Tasks
- Organizing and chairing all board and general meetings
- Safeguarding strategic policy goals during the daily routine
- Communicating extensively within the board, and with the university, other study associations, the Faculty Student Council, and Sefa’s supervisory board
- Representing Sefa towards outside parties
- Financial audit

About me
My name is Lieke, and I have the honour of serving as the Chairman of the 104th Executive Board of Sefa.
My journey with Sefa began in 2021, when I started my studies in Business Administration at the University of Amsterdam. Having just returned from a year of college in the United States, I was searching for a sense of belonging, and I found it in Sefa. I joined As Good As New, organising the unforgettable 100-year Lustrum Grand Ball. This was an incredible experience and Sefa quickly became more than just a study association. This led me to organise the iconic ski trip to Kirchberg and the 2023 edition of Sefa Career Week, one of Sefa’s most impactful projects.
After an exchange to Sydney and several months of travelling around Australia, I returned as Chair of the King’s Day committee. Being immersed once again in the Sefa spirit reminded me of why I fell in love with this community in the first place and ultimately inspired me to pursue a board year. I’m incredibly excited to lead this organisation and to give back to the community that has given me so much.
