Sefa Skillsweek 2022
After seven very successful previous editions, having attracted over 200 students each year, the eighth edition of Skillsweek is currently underway. It is taking place from the 31st of October until the 3rd of November. As one of Sefa’s most popular events, Sefa Skillsweek aims to stimulate your professional interests, allowing you to improve your career-oriented, academic, and personal skills through the workshops provided. Apart from allowing you to develop yourself further, the event is an excellent opportunity for you to network, while also giving you the opportunity to interact with companies on a more personal level. In this manner, Sefa Skillsweek allows you to develop practical skills that are highly relevant beyond the field of academics.
This year, 9 different workshops given by experts in their own fields – ranging from Members of Parliament to industry experts. This is a unique opportunity for every student that wants to gain valuable skills they can benefit from throughout their lives.
Most companies are working in hybrid mode these days (2 days in the office). During this workshop we would like to help you with developing the soft skills you need to survive the hybrid way of working. For example, how to maintain a healthy work-life balance, how to network and the do’s and don’ts during virtual meetings. We will also dive a little deeper into healthy work environments. In this interactive workshop we will have an open conversation with students about these topics.

The basic idea behind the design of every course is active learning. Students are often tempted to (only) make summaries and (re)read or mark textbooks, with the misleading thought that this significantly improves their study results. However, based on the available scientific research, these study techniques are rated as low utility learning (Dulonsky et al. 2013).
In the workshop offered by AthenaStudies, we will look at these study techniques with the goal that you will be able to apply it to your own studies in order to achieve higher results immediately.
