Terms and Conditions

1. The event

The Career Week 2018 will take place from Monday, November 26th till Friday 30th.  The event is held at the Roeterseiland Campus of the University of Amsterdam, From 26th till 29th in the Amsterdam Business School (M-Building), Friday the 30th will be held at CREA. The following activities will be offered:

• Presentations
• Cases
• Trainings
• Individual interviews
• Lunches
• Workshops (Painting, Barista)
• High Wines
• Dinners
• Ladies Night
• Boat Tours
• Daily Network Drinks

The Career Week committee will always retain the right to make adjustments to the program. For unexpected changes in the schedule, the Career Week committee cannot be held responsible.

Only the presentation and daily network drinks do not request a CV-selection.

Students who apply to 2 or more activities per day will receive a free lunch. The network drink is free and open to all participants and companies.

2.  Application process

Students can apply for the Career Week via the website of Sefa. The application period will start on the 12th of October and end on the 11th of November 23:59. The students can only apply once they have become a Sefa member and created an account via the Sefa website. Once students’ schedules are available on the 19th of November, they will receive an email with all their preliminary program of selected activities.

We urge all students with overlapping activities to cancel one as soon as possible. Our communication channels to students will be via personalized emails and text messages. Wherever necessary, the committee will personally call participants.

The Career Week committee is obliged to present the student’s CV to the companies that the student has signed up for and cannot influence the selection of students. Exclusively the participating companies will execute the selection of students.

3. Cancellation Policy

When a student is unable to attend the activity, he or she can cancel free of charge as long as this is longer than 48 hours prior to that particular activity. When the student is placed on a waiting list, the same guidelines apply.

• Cancellation is possible up until 48 hours in advance.
• If the student cancels between 1 hour and 48 hours in advance, they will be held accountable to pay a fee of €20,-.
• If students do not show and have not cancelled their participation, a fee of €25,– will be charged.

Students will be notified of this policy by email and companies have the possibility to place no-show students on blacklists.

The fine will automatically be deducted from the students’ bank accounts.

4. GDPR

Time Storage

According to Article 5(1)(e) and Recital (39) of the GDPR, information gathered from companies and students will be kept only for the shortest time possible. The data will only be kept and used for processing purposes only. By way of an exception, personal data i.e. company contacts will be kept for a longer period of time for archiving purposes. Sefa also ensures that this data is held accurate and kept up-to-date.

Anonymization

By the use of personal data Article (26) of the GDPR, Sefa ensure that the data (CV’s) is kept safe and will use methods that ensures the strict confidentiality of the actual data. Several techniques that can be used are personalized anonymization, directory replacement or blurring.

Compliance

According to Article (28)(f) of the GDPR, Sefa ensures that before it is processing the personal data as a controller, compliance is given by the person/party the data belongs to.

5. Not responsible for theft

During the Career Week 2018, you may leave your coat and bag at the cloakroom. The committee 2018, Sefa, the M-building and CREA are not responsible for any possible damage and/or theft.
